 hey - i decided to make this website for Brandon because at his funeral his mother told me not to let his spirit die - & i dont plan on letting that happen - Brandon was a wOnderful son & friend - he played varsity and JV football and was going to be in the premiers chior (the best show choir at Ben Davis High School) he was very excited about it - we all knew Brandon for his beautiful smile and great sense of humor - i remember one of the last things he ever told me - it was the same thing he would tell me everyday after my friend Kelly died - he would always say "Keep your head up cuz" - Brandon will always be missed and never forgotten - so until we see him again .. just "keep your head up"

Brandon Chadwick Dunson - Taylor

 Born October 19, 1989 - Became an Angel July 25, 2005.
Brandon brought a smile to everyone he met, starting with the Doctors and Nurses at the hospital. He was full of joy from the start. He brought light to every room he entered with his beautiful smile.
 Brandon had a zest for life. He always had to be center of attention. He was known to be the class clown.  Always doing something to make any & everyone smile. Sadness was not apart of him. He hated to see anyone upset or to cry.
Laughter was his policy. Brandon had alot of friends.  
Brandon was a good student. Once he found a love for football he new his grades had to be up to parr to play. 
School was his stage to entertain his friends and teachers as well as to learn. Brandon enjoyed football, he had a passion for it. If he wasn't playing it outside, he was playing it on the playstation 2. He was to play on the varsity team this year.
 After Brandon passed away Coach Allen and the wonderful coaching staff at Ben Davis High School past out the jerseys for the upcoming season to the young men. I was given both of Brandon's Jerseys #39. We proudly have them both displayed beautifully to admire his accomplishment and to wonder of what would have been.
I will forever love the game of football.
 
Brandon was a very bright ,handsome young man who's life was taken to soon.
On July 24, 2005 after having permission to stay the night with a friend, they decided to hang out at burger king.  About 11:00 p.m. one of his "FRIENDS" ( I say that very lightly) decided it would be fun to throw eggs at cars.  After striking several cars with eggs, they were headed home. One of the angry motorest decided to take matters in his own hands. He drove away, came back, stopped to talk to another motorest who was hit by eggs after him and who was on the phone with the police at that time reporting the egging, decided to chase the boys with a gun. The boys scattered. The motorest fired 2 shots.  One boy was hit in the leg and Brandon was hit in the back. The bullet pierced his heart.
Brandon's life was taken.

This all took place before 11:30 p.m. on July 24, 2005.  Several of the boys knew Brandon was shot. NO ONE went back until 2:00 a.m. on July 25, 2005 ( hence the date).
I only ask one question of everyone involed:
WHY?

To the BOYS:   
First I must say: I Brandon's Mother am not angry. I am hurt. I hurt for Brandon and for You. I feel betrayed for Brandon. I will all ways speak to you, hug you, but most of all, I feel sorry for all of you. 
   The definition of : FRIEND (frend) n. 1. A person one knows, likes, and trusts.  Know who your true friends are! Be a true Friend. I feel betrayed for Brandon. BETRAY vb . 1. to give up to an enemy.
Brandon would not have left any of you. He would have hollered from the roof tops for help. ?Friends?
You went home, one went to sleep (twice) then was waken up to go with the others to the hospital to check on the one  boy who was shot in the leg.
Several of you have cell phones. You called each other after it happened, no one thought to call the police. You even call CARLOS to take you to the hospital.
One of you called our home and hung up TWICE! on my husband when he answered.  If you would have just said something, anything!
"You are not promised tomorrow ! " Stop and think before you do things. Brandon might still be here! This WORLD is not the same as it use to be. People are not the same. Some people have no cares for anothers Life.
 Brandon loved life!

To Carlos: I can never say THANK YOU ENOUGH!! YOU ARE AN ANGEL!
If you had not gone over there, who knows how long would it have been? We would not have expected Brandon home from his friends until noon on the 25th.

To the Shooter: They were children!! Everyone has done something stupid when they were kids. Stop and think back in your Life, unless you were perfect ( which we know you weren't ), you did something stupid too!! No one shot at you.

 YOU HAD NO RIGHT  TO TAKE MY CHILDS LIFE!

To the Nay Sayers Who Say:
 What if it was a Family in the car they hit and they crash? What if the egg put the drivers eye out? What if the egg damaged the drivers car?

Well my answer to you is:
 What if: the terrorist never bombed the World trade Center?
What if: we never went to War, any of the Wars?
 What if: the person who's house was "T P"ed as a Senior Prank, came out shooting?
 What if: you didn't make that one wrong choice in your life? Your life might be alot different.
 What if , What if , What if !!! We can't live today on What If?
We can only go by  What is, and what happened and learn from it!
Should they have been throwing eggs? NO!! Should they have been shot at? NO! Should My child be Gone? NO!!  

To the parents and everyone else: I agree!  They should not have been out that late. Our curfew for Brandon has always been 11:00 p.m.. He was staying the night  with a friend. This happened between 11:00 and Midnight. Brandon was not found until 2 a.m. by a young man who was not even with the boys or involed in the egging. He was called after the incident.  According to the now curfew law, they had a right to be outside on weekends until 1:00 a.m. 
Lets also remember this was summer time,  Not the middle of the school year.
Parents, truley know your childs friends & their parents.
 Know if they have a curfew for thier child.

Brandon was the BEST: Son, Brother, Grandson, Great Grandson, Nephew, Great Nephew, Cousin, and Friend. He will be very missed!!

DECEMBER 1, 2005: THE MAN CHARGED WITH BRANDON'S MURDER WAS FOUND GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES!!

THE MAN WHO TOOK GODS CHILD FROM US WAS GIVEN 70 YEARS TO PRAY FOR FORGIVNESS!

 The defendent filed a petion for Transfer to the Indiana Supreme Court. 
On May 18, 2007
 The Indiana Supreme Court denied the request.
